This year I will be having a book published by the largest Catholic publisher in the country, Our Sunday Visitor. It is a series of reflections on the titles given to Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew. I guess the “Joe Bible Stud” nickname Shane Adams gave me in high school still applies. My second biggest accomplishment is that I ran a marathon without having a heart attack.

In 1993 after a lot of study and prayer I became a Catholic. I figured if it was good enough for Mother Teresa, it was good enough for me. But seriously, it was the best decision I’ve ever made and changed my life forever.

Well, after squeaking thru high school with a comfy c average I would think graduating from college? Actually I did not start college until 21 thinking I was not cut out for it. But after no rich men appeared I figured I better get on the ball! I went full time all the way through (while working close to full time and getting married) and still managed to graduate cum laude.

The whole thing has been interesting! I have finally embraced my southern roots and now consider myself one of them...It is handy being bilingual. I speak both Northern and Southern. Oh, and Eli Manning was our QB at Ole Miss. Hotty Toddy!

I actually have 5 children and 1 granddaughter. My son's half sisters are still in my life and I am grateful for them. My husband is the best! He has welcomed them all into his life with open arms. My mother also lives with us after having a brain tumor removed in January. We enjoy as much of life as possible every day.

Something Interesting in the last 20 Years::
Let's see, back when the Jerry Springer show was filmed in Cincinnati and WAAAAAY before it became the show it is today, Gregg Church and I went to a taping of it. Prior to the show, they asked for volunteers. With Gregg's urgings, I volunteered and found myself on stage participating in the topic of "how to release the wild women in you." I was on stage for the whole show participating in a variety of silly activities. Not to be undone, Gregg got his 15 minutes of fame by asking a question and making small talk with Jerry.

I have lived in Charleston for 16 years and love it. My husband and I love anything outdoors- boating, hiking, fishing, running and traveling- and exposing our boys to all of this. I am also having a very successful career and am back in grad school for my second master's, an MBA.
